Oct 15, 2023

Vancouver, BC – C3 Korean Canadian Community Society is delighted to announce JJ Lee as the new chair of the non-profit group. Effective immediately, JJ Lee will fill the position previously served by Mike Lee.

JJ first started out as a volunteer at one of the first Korean culture showcases at Lougheed Mall as well as Korean Heritage Day Festival in 2006. Since then, he rejoined C3 as a committee member for the Leadership Conference and joined the Board of Directors in 2022. JJ currently works in Capacity Development at the First Nations Financial Management Board. “I would like to thank the outgoing Chair and Board, our volunteers, and our donors for their unconditional support as we celebrate 20 years. This is not an easy feat and is a testament to how hard our volunteers and the community have worked to be able to celebrate such a milestone! I look forward to growing the organization and connecting Korean Canadians for the next 20 years!”

Mike Lee will step down from his role as Chair but is firmly committed to continually supporting the organization. “It has been an honour and a privilege to serve as Chair of C3 for the past few years. I could not be any prouder to have gone through my years, including the pandemic with the current board and I thank them for all their support. Now as we hit the milestone of the 20th anniversary of the organization, I believe now is the opportunity for the next generation to come in and revitalize our operations and reach,” said Mike Lee.
