 What is a Workshop?

A workshop can vary in topics that will aim to provide guidance for those who are about to enter the workforce, and those looking for professional career development. We invite speakers from various industry backgrounds willing to share their stories and provide guidance and mentorship to delegates at the C3 Leadership Conference.

Workshop 1: Navigating the Post-Pandemic Job Market

The COVID19 pandemic affected the way we think about jobs, careers, and our general well-being. It’s also changed our work environments and how we adapt to the ever changing job market. We’ve invited a panel of experts in recruitment and human resources to help navigate the implications of these changes and guidance on how to overcome these challenges.

Workshop 2A: Discover Your Personal Brand & Stand Out In a Competitive Job Market

New York Times bestselling author, Dan Schawbel, once said “Brand yourself for the career you want, not the job you have.” Most people have multiple jobs in their life and building your personal brand provides you with untapped opportunities to optimize your career. This workshop will discuss steps on building your own brand to help stand out in the job market through developing your talent, network, brand, and niche.

Workshop 2B: Making Cents of Money

School has taught us Finance courses but we have never been taught how to manage our OWN finances. As a new grad who landed your first job or as a young professional working for a few years, you may have struggled with how to budget, save, and invest your paycheque. Whether your financial goals are to pay off your student loans, or to save up for a home, wedding, or travel, understanding how to be money savvy will help you reach financial independence. This workshop will focus on how to optimize your finances and develop a better understanding of the tools, options, and opportunities available for you to “make cents of money.”

Workshop 3A: Women in Business & How to Reach Your Full Potential

Women in the job market and as entrepreneurs do not make as much money as men. For one, less than 3% of all Venture Capital funding goes to women. Our speaker, a serial entrepreneur who has built up and sold businesses, had her challenges as a female in the world of start-ups that are largely dominated by males. Our speaker will share her experience on how she had defied the odds and was able to stand out as a business leader. Join the workshop to learn more about how you can overcome obstacles as a woman in business and to reach your full potential.

Workshop 3B: Entrepreneurship: The State of Business

Have you ever considered being your own boss? This entrepreneurship panel includes business owners from traditional brick and mortar, to turnkey technology companies to shed light on the current state of entrepreneurship. The panel of speakers will share their insights from their own experiences in navigating the ups and downs, do’s and don’ts, and the never ending rollercoaster of “being your own boss.”
